Ramon Santiago, MD
Dr. Santiago was born, raised and educated in New York City. After serving his country in the U.S. Army for 3 years he attended Bronx Community College in New York City, then went on to complete his undergraduate education at Columbia University in Manhattan, New York. He earned his Medical Doctor Degree at the State University of New York College of Medicine at Downstate in 1978. In 1981 he completed his 3 year Family Practice Residency at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, New York and relocated to Tampa. Prior to entering private practice he was a Chief of Staff, Chairman of the Dept of Family Practice and eventually the Associate Medical Director of CIGNA Healthplan of Tampa before becoming an Assistant Professor at USF College of Medicine. He has been practicing in the Tampa and Temple Terrace area since 1981. He is married and has 5 daughters and currently has 5 grandchildren (with more on the way!). He and his wife are passionate world travelers and adventurers who have traveled all over the world to places such as China, Central & South America, the glaciers of Alaska, the Mid East, Europe and
even the jungles of Africa.In his spare time he works out regularly at a gym thereby practicing the same advice he gives his patients. He is also a Certified Scuba Diver, has a First Degree Black Belt in the Martial Arts and is a motorcycle enthusiast. If you are observant you may even notice him roaring pass you on his Harley Davidson motorcycle!
Christine Hernandez, APRN
Christine Hernandez, APRN was born in Lafayette, Indiana to a man from Mexico and a woman from North Dokatoa. Her professional career began in 1991 when she graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After graduating, Christine served in the Army Nurse Corps at Walter Reed Army Medical Center until 1996. In 2002, she obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from Duke University, becoming an acute care nurse practitioner. In 2022, she graduated from Carson Newman University as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Christine also worked as a full-time stay-at-home mom to raise her two beautiful daughters. Eager to learn, she continues to research diabetes care, nonpharmaceutical treatments for illnesses, and food as medicine.
She and her Army veteran husband of 25 years moved to Tampa in 2017, where they are close to family and can enjoy the Florida sunshine. She enjoys spending time with family, including her dog and two cats, and attending church. You may also find her at the beach or enjoying some well-deserved retail therapy!
